We have more recoveries than new cases today according to Southwestern Public Health. The region currently has 63 active cases with most of them in Woodstock, St. Thomas and Ingersoll.
OXFORD/ST.THOMAS/ELGIN - Southwestern Public Health confirmed 7 new cases of the virus this morning and 9 recoveries.
We currently have 63 active cases with most of them in Woodstock and St. Thomas. Here is the breakdown of the locations according to Southwestern Public Health:
Woodstock - 21
Ingersoll - 10
Norwich Township - 3
Zorra Township - 3
Tillsonburg - 4
South-West Oxford - 1
Blandford-Blenheim - 1
St. Thomas - 13
Aylmer - 7
To date we have had 10 institutional outbreaks at Long Term Care Homes. We only have one active outbreak right now at the Woodingford Lodge in Woodstock where 1 staff member has tested positive.
The number one symptom that has led to a positive test in the region is a cough, followed by a fever. Other symptoms that have resulted in positive tests include fatigue, headache, sore throat, shortness of breath and nasal congestion just to name a few. 18% of people who have tested positive in our region were asymptomatic.
