OXFORD/ST.THOMAS/ELGIN - Southwestern Public Health confirmed 9 new cases of the virus this morning and 8 recoveries.
We currently have 55 active cases in the region with most of them in Woodstock. Here is the breakdown of the locations according to Southwestern Public Health:

Ingersoll - 7
Norwich Township - 3
Tillsonburg - 3
Blandford-Blenheim - 3
Zorra Township - 3
East-Zorra township - 1
St. Thomas - 6
Aylmer - 2
Central Elgin - 2
Bayham - 2
Dutton-Dunwich 1
To date we have had 10 institutional outbreaks at Long Term Care Homes. The health unit is reporting three active outbreaks at the Bethany Long Term Care Home in Norwich, Woodingford Lodge in Woodstock and the Arches Transitional Bed Program. 3 residents at the Bethany Long Term Care home have tested positive for the virus and 1 staff member. So far, only 1 staff member has tested positve at both the Woodingford Lodge and Arches Transitional Bed Program. We currently have 3 people in the hospital with COVID-19 in our region and none of those cases are in the ICU.
The number one symptom that has led to a positive test in the region is a cough, followed by a fever. Other symptoms that have resulted in positive tests include fatigue, headache, sore throat, shortness of breath and nasal congestion just to name a few. 18% of people who have tested positive in our region were asymptomatic.
