Southwestern Public Health is confirming two more active cases of COVID-19 today, including 1 active case in East Zorra-Tavistock.
UPDATE: Southwestern Public Health has officially declared the outbreak over at the Secord Trails Long Term Care home in Ingersoll. The Long Term Care home is now listed as resolved and staff have recovered.
OXFORD/ST.THOMAS/ELGIN - Southwestern Public Health has confirmed two more active cases of COVID-19 today and one recovery in St. Thomas.
One of the active cases was confirmed as being in East Zorra-Tavistock and the other new active case is from St. Thomas. This means we currently have 2 active cases in Oxford County and 2 in St. Thomas. We will provide you with that information when it becomes available.
Active Cases in Oxford County:
- 1 case in Tillsonburg
- 1 case in East Zorra-Tavistock
To date, the Health Unit has tested 6,180 people for COVID-19. We have 77 cumulative confirmed cases, 69 cases have been resolved, 4 people have died from the virus and we currently have 4 active cases. We have also have had three institutional outbreaks since the pandemic was declared. Two outbreaks were in Elgin County and they are listed as resolved. The other outbreak was at Secord Trails Long Term Care Home in the Town of Ingersoll and it was just listed as resolved today. Thus far 8 employees at the long term care home have tested positive for the virus. All staff and residents have been tested.
