Environment Canada have issued a special weather statement for Oxford county and surrounding areas. A warm, humid air mass over southern Ontario is causing favourable conditions for isolated thunderstorms this afternoon. According to the weather agency, the storms will be slow moving and could produce local amounts of rainfall between 30 and 50 mm if several track over the same areas. Environment Canada will continue to monitor the situation and advise that severe thunderstorm warnings could be issued if rainfall amounts exceed 50 mm in an hour or less.
