If you know a notable athlete from Ingersoll, now's the time to make sure they get recognition.
INGERSOLL - Nominations are still being accepted for the Ingersoll Sports Hall of Fame.
New inductees are honoured every three years and the Hall of Fame Committee is looking for nominees who will be inducted on October 3rd at the Ingersoll Museum. Curator of the Ingersoll Cheese and Agriculture Museum Scott Gillies tells Heart FM about some of the qualifications needed to be in the Hall of Fame: "The indivdual has to be somebody who has been recgonized at either the provincial, national, or international level and the sports teams must also have represented the town of Ingersoll at one of those distinct levels."
They also have categories for builders and they have a media section.
The Hall of Fame was established in the 1980's and 70 people have been inducted so far along with 14 teams. You can grab a nomination form at the cheese museum or the Ingersoll Town Hall until August 14th.
