A local motorcycle club was at the latest Woodstock City Council meeting to talk about the current road conditions and the use of tar on city roads.
WOODSTOCK - A local motorcycle club is not impressed with how Woodstock's roads are being repaired.
Gary Young, the President of The Crew, says the city is currently filling in road cracks with tar.
"The tar is not setting. So what happens is on a cold night it would feel hard to touch but as soon as the sun comes out and warms the road up it goes soft. If you ride a bicycle through sand you would get the same effect."
Young adds the tar snakes are also hard the steer through, posing a risk to motorcyclists.
Crew Member Mike Johnston presented a delegation to Woodstock City Council Thursday evening. He says something needs to be done about this.
"Whether they have to add something else to the tar that's being used or another method to repair the roads; we need to make it right."
City Council has asked city staff to prepare a report on the matter.
