A 54 year-old Stratford man has been arrested on manslaughter charges, dating back to a fentanyl overdose case late last year.
STRATFORD - Stratford Police have arrested a 54 year-old man for manslaughter and trafficking a controlled substance.
Terry Collins of Stratford was arrested on Friday afternoon at 3:50pm, where he was then taken into custody before appearing at a bail hearing yesterday.
Police sent out a press release yesterday, stating they had issued a warrant for Collins' arrest.
His charges dates back to December 21, 2018 when a 48-year-old Stratford man died from a fentanyl overdose.
Police have information they believe that Collins provided the man, along with a 33 year-old woman with the drug commonly known as "down." After both of them took the drug, the woman was able to be revived with naloxone however the man passed away.
Collins is expected to appear back in a Stratford courtroom tomorrow.
Stratford Police want to express their condolences to all who were affected by the man's death and they want to remind the public of the extreme dangers of fentanyl.
