Lots of parents and grandparents were able to buy children's gifts at the Christmas Place this week.
WOODSTOCK - There's going to be lots of happy families on Christmas morning, thanks to Operation Sharing's Christmas Place.
College Ave Church opened their doors earlier this week, allowing parents and grandparents to purchase children's gifts for a reasonable price on Wednesday and Thursday.
Director Kathy Gilverson says the program is for those living in poverty.
"They come with the invitation and their children and ages listed on it. They're allowed to spend $4 per child on toys and they're all new, but they leave with usually about $40 to $70 worth of new toys for $4."
Gilverson says they helped 273 families on Wednesday alone.
"People seem to be finding something for each kid which is great! When there is even a question about a certain age gift cards have come in handy so we have been using those too."
Each shopper received another invitation to allow their kids to do their shopping tomorrow.
The Christmas Place has been helping impoverished families in Oxford County for 35 years.
