The downtown core in Woodstock is the place to be for the next three days.
WOODSTOCK -- Music, dancing, shopping and good food has taken over the downtown core of Woodstock.
The annual Summer Streetfest kicked off Thursday morning, with roughly 40 acts performing over the four days and retailers moving their great sales out onto the sidewalks.
Woodstock BIA Manager, Kelly Morrison highlights the fun activities for the kids including children's entertainers and dance groups performing Friday. "We have an awesome display down at the west block with the petting zoo and Grand River Inflatables, so lots to keep them busy."
Friday will showcase another long list of performers on the three stages, including a number of wandering acts. On the OLG Main Stage in the evening, Sarah Smith and her band will perform live (6:00 pm) and a duo that drew large crowds Thursday, an Australian husband-and-wife act will perform their one-hour Circus Fire Extravaganza. "About 8:00, 8:30 Dream Circus and it's a fantastic fire show. The crowds that they got around were just amazing during the day (Thursday) and they were juggling fire but tonight is the big fire extravaganza so if you're able, come downtown between 8:00 and 8:30."
Saturday afternoon, Blues music takes over the stages as the Bikes and Blues gets underway - hundreds of bikes will line the street and Juno-award winning Jake De Keyzer will hit the OLG Main Stage at night.
Sunday wraps up the festivities with the Annual StreetFest Cruise, presented by Southgate Centre from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Registration is free with a charity beef BBQ, 50/50 draw and door prizes on hand raising funds the Senior Centre.
