Suspensions have already been handed out to Fanshawe students involved in the St. Patrick's day riot on Fleming Drive in London. College President Howard Rundle says the school has already put eight students on interim suspension and is investigating under Fanshawe's student code of conduct. "Sadly, I must say, the actions of some of our students, not only endangered themselves, but also put our emergency responders and our community at great risk. This is unacceptable, it will not be tolerated, it will not be excused, and we will not have those people as students of this college." At least seven Fanshawe students were among those arrested after an intoxicated crowd of about one-thousand rioted on Saturday night, setting a TV news van on fire and attacking police and firefighters who tried to intervene by pelting them with beer bottles. Rundle also placed some blame landlords in the area, and on high school and other students that were a part of the riot.
