OXFORD COUNTY - Southwestern Public Health says if parents are unsure how their children can engage in safe play during COVID-19, they have offered some advice.
The health unit posted a chart on their Facebook last week helping determine the level of risk that is associated with certain activities.
They say children are at a low risk when they engage in outdoor activities with people in your social circle or keeping a distance of two metres or six feet with people outside of your social circle. These activities can include water balloon wars, riding bikes and swimming.
Outdoor low-touch activities such as Frisbee or playing catch (with sanitized equipment) with people outside of your social circle are among the activities that are considered medium risk.
SWPH adds children are at a high-risk when they play in high-touch activities indoors with people outside of your social circle. or in large crowds. These activities include sharing toys, wrestling and visiting crowded parks or beaches where it is difficult to practice physical distancing.
