Tara McDonald took to the stand this afternoon in the trial of the man accused of killing her eight year-old daughter, Tori Stafford. McDonald was asked to recall the details of the morning on April 8, 2009; what Tori was wearing, how her personality was that morning before she left for school. McDonald remained composed and sat quietly between questions from both Crown Attorney Brian Crockett and Defence Attorney Dirk Derstine. During the questionings, McDonald testified that she and her boyfriend had illegally bought OxyContin from Terri-Lynne McClintic's mother. She admitted to going to their house twice, seeing McClintic in passing on one occasion and a second time, she seemed to be "under the influence" and McDonald doesn't believe McClintic noticed she was there. McDonald also told the court that she and McClintic's mother had talked about the possibilities of breeding their shih tzus but says McClintic never met Tori. Three witnesses were on the stand today including an OPP Forensics Officer and Woodstock Police Staff Sergeant Paul Hess. Another witness is scheduled for Thursday. Justice Thomas Heeney explained that court would be on hold for Friday and Monday as they make arrangements for the Crown's witness, McClintic.
