Eileen Gordon, Colleen Tiemens and Dale Schwartzentruber have won $100,000 after playing Lotto 649 with ENCORE.
TAVISTOCK - A Tavistock trio is now $100,000 richer after purchasing a Lotto 649 ticket with ENCORE.
Eileen Gordon, Colleen Tiemens and Dale Schwartzentruber are all friends and former neighbours, so they decided to try their luck at playing the lottery together on May 27th.
Gordon was in charge of holding onto the ticket. When the numbers on the ticket matched with the winning numbers, she knew something was up.
"As the numbers began to match I wasn't sure what it meant so I went to the store to have the ticket validated. Of course I forgot my glasses so the retailer shared the good news with me!"
Gordon immediately went to Tiemens and Schwartzentruber's house upon hearing the news. Tiemens was a little confused at first.
"I didn't know what was wrong with her; if she was happy, sad or angry until she threw the ticket down and declared we won!"
It took a while for the good news to fully hit Schwartzentruber.
"It wasn't until I came to the Prize Centre and collected the cheque that it became real for me!"
