It's time to roll up your sleeves for the Thames River. The annual Thames River clean-up starts at 9 o'clock Saturday morning in various locations across Woodstock and Ingersoll. Catherine Stewart-Mott is one of the organizers and says litter is the least of their concerns. She says they commonly find concentrated piles of trash. "It disturbs me to know that people are doing a lot of dumping. Ideally what I'd love to see that the Thames is a clean river and when we go out to do our clean-up, we just have a nice lovely walk that day. I think those days are not just here." The clean-up is also an opportunity for high school students to earn their community hours. They are forming at Mill St. and Park Row at 9AM. Anyone interested can contact Mott at ife-in-balance@hotmail.com or phoning (519) 537-6426 Anyone going out is encouraged to bring gloves, proper footwear and dress for the weather. Showers are in the forecast Saturday morning.
