Thamesford residents are being asked to conserve water as the treatment facility undergoes repairs from last nights storm.
THAMESFORD - Residents in Thamesford are being asked to conserve water this weekend.
The call comes after the storm yesterday caused damage to the water treatment facility. Repairs are being done of the facility today and they hope to have it fixed over the weekend. The facility is currently off line while Public Works staff make repairs to the electrical equipment.
Drinking water has been tested and it is still safe to drink and they are able to supply treated water from the groundwater well, however supply is limited.
The request to conserve water extends Friday while repairs are made, and then into the weekend to allow an additional 24 hours to return the storage reservoir to normal operating levels.
Residents will be advised once operations return to normal. Anyone with questions or concerns should contact Oxford County Public Works or Public Health & Emergency Services at 519-539-9800 or 1-866-537-778.
