After only one weekend of daffodil pin sales, the Canadian Cancer Society of Oxford is almost half way to their fundraising goal in their Daffodil Month campaign.
WOODSTOCK - The Canadian Cancer Society's Daffodil Month campaign certainly got off on the right foot in Oxford County.
Volunteers managed to raise over $4,000 of their $12,000 goal last weekend alone.
Community Fundraising Specialist Hailey Parliament says they will be back at it this weekend.
"This weekend we will have volunteers at Zehrs (Woodstock) and Sobeys (Woodstock) collecting donations and having pins available for our community."
Parliament says some will be able to purchase a daffodil pin in the comfort of their own home.
"We will have our door to door campaign happening throughout the month so if you hear a knock at the door remember to give generously and wear your pin proudly. We're so thankful for all of the volunteers who have signed up and who will be out on the front lines of Daffodil Month."
All of the funds raised will benefit cancer research and support services for patients and their families.
If you would like to volunteer your time contact the Canadian Cancer Society of Oxford's Woodstock office on Springbank Ave North. Their phone number is 519-537-5592.
