One woman from Ingersoll won the grand prize for filling out The Canadian Index of Wellbeing Survey.
OXFORD COUNTY - A Ingersoll woman is now the proud owner of an iPad mini along with some coupons for local tourist attractions after she filled out the Canadian Index of Wellbeing Survey. Crystal Van Steijn was one of over 11,000 residents in Oxford who received the survey in the mail.
Kelly Gilson is the Executive Director of United Way Oxford and is a volunteer with the local index of wellbeing group. She explains what they will do with the information they gathered.
"To get a baseline understanding of the overall health and wellbeing of our residents across Oxford County and to really understand what is going on in people's lives and to help us plan moving forward."
Gilson adds the survey asked a variety of different questions.
"We look at things like your free time, the time you have whether it's the time you commute to work or the time you have to enjoy your family and friends and what you do socially. We look at education, we look at civic engagement, and we look at recreation and what opportunities you have there. It really covers a broad area of people's everyday lives."
The Canadian Index of Wellbeing Survey is also a part of the Future Oxford Plan.
