OPP are reminding residents to keep an eye out for suspicious activity after three calls for fires on the same property.
TILLSONBURG - After responding to three fires on the same property in one month, Oxford OPP are asking residents to be on the lookout.
The first call came in around 8:30 p.m. on July 16th when officers responded to a call for an abandoned barn fire on Brownsville Road just west of Tillsonburg. When police arrived the barn was already fully engulfed in flames and was completely destroyed by the blaze.
Then earlier this week around 6:22 p.m. on Monday night, OPP and fire crews responded to a second fire on the same property, but in a smaller barn.
Yesterday emergency crews responded to yet another fire on the property. OPP arrived at the scene just after 4 a.m. to assist with a second fire in the smaller barn. This time the building was completely destroyed.
The Fire Marshal was called but did not attend the scene. The investigation is ongoing and it is being treated as suspicious.
Because of these strange incidents the OPP are reminding residents to keep an eye out for suspicious people or vehicles that may be sitting in your neighbours' driveways when they are not home, or vehicles that are travelling aimlessly up and down the roads. If possible try to get descriptions, licence plate numbers, and note what direction the vehicles are travelling in and report these details to local police.
