Katherine Englander has recently retired and wants to give back to her community as a town councillor.
TILLSONBURG - She spent the majority of her career as a human resources professional, and now she's looking to enter politics.
Katherine Englander is running for a seat on Tillsonburg Town Council.
She moved to Tillsonburg in 1985 and has worked in the local area ever since. Englander recently retired and is reaching out to the community on key issues the voters have.
"Fiscal responsibility is always important, water in Tillsonburg has been a concern, always, and healthcare, meaning doctors and our hospital. Municipal government is not responsible for everything, but we do have a key role because we live here."
Englander has experience working in governance-related fields and is eager to hear from the Tillsonburg community.
"I have a lot of experience in strategic planning with companies and board experience. I just completed a term as the Chairman of the Board of the Better Business Bureau of Southwestern Ontario. I am on the BIA of Tillsonburg board of management right now."
The municipal election is scheduled for October 26th.
