Woodstock is submitting an application for the Canada-Ontario Development Charge Reduction Program.
WOODSTOCK - The City of Woodstock is looking for funding for the North Woodstock Recreation Facility that's in the works.
City Council voted in favour of submitting an application to the Canada-Ontario Development Charge Reduction Program during last night's meeting. The program looks to reduce building costs and speed up the construction of new homes, but it can also assist with certain infrastructure projects if the municipality agrees to residential development charge reductions of 30 to 50 per cent for a least three years.
During last night's meeting, council agreed to a 50 percent development charge reduction to help fund phase one of the rec centre project.
The city will know later this summer if the application is successful.
