Rib fans rejoice! You're invited to get saucy this weekend.
TILLSONBURG - Grab your favourite bib and head to Tillsonburg this weekend for Rib Fest at the Tillsonburg Fairgrounds.
Three famous ribbers will be on hand serving up their best pork and beef ribs and over 50 food vendors will be at the three day festival. The event is being put on by the Tillsonbug Thunder senior men's hockey team. President of the Tillsonburg Thunder Michael Holly says they will have live entertainment happening all weekend with 15 bands performing. Friday night is rock night with some local rock bands playing and an AC/DC tribute band. Saturday night is a country night and they will have a family show on Sunday afternoon.
Holly says all of the proceeds will go toward the Tillsonburg Thunder hockey team. "This is our 7th year and we had a very successful year this year; we won the AA Ontario championship. The team has been building for seven years and we have been looking for something in the summertime to help operate the team - it's not cheap to run a team in Tillsonburg. The ribfest is sponsored by the team and we have a lot of the players and a lot of the volunteers helping out."
Things get started today at 11 a.m. at the Fairgrounds. They will also be having a car and truck show and Admission is free all weekend.
