Woodstock residents with suggestions on how to better the City's Transit System are invited to a pair of open house presentations.
WOODSTOCK - The City of Woodstock is looking for your comments on their Transit System.
They are hosting a pair of open house sessions Wednesday, December 3rd.
"We are presenting some options on our transit system in terms of routes, hours of service and fare structure," says City Engineer Harold de Haan. "We've done the study, we've investigated it and now we have come up with some options on those three areas so we are asking the public to take a look at those and basically comment on how they feel about those options."
"Whatever comments we get, tweak our options accordingly and then based on that we will kind of decide on what the recommended, preferred alternative is going forward and what we will do then is wrap it all up in a report, present it to council and hopefully have council accept and adopt the preferred alternatives."
de Haan says it will be a drop in format. "We're going to have boards there and we are going to have some personnel, staff and the consultant there basically just to ask questions. We find that the free flowing format kind of works best as opposed to having a formal presentation. A lot of times the formal presentations don't necessarily address everybody's comments. This way you can speak one on one to people and clarify any questions they may have."
The open house runs Wednesday from 2-4pm and again from 7-9pm in City Council Chambers.
