Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will address the media at 11:15 a.m. and he's expected to address the massive protest on Parliament Hill.
OTTAWA - Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is expected to comment on the truckers' protest today.
He's expected to address the media at 11:15 a.m. this morning. The Trudeau family was relocated to a secure location over the weekend and the Prime Minister will not be in the House of Commons today once Parliament resumes. Trudeau is wrapping up his five-day self-isolation period after he discovered that he had been exposed to COVID-19 last week.
The freedom convoy descended upon Ottawa over the weekend to protest government-imposed vaccine mandates and other COVID-19 restrictions. There have been no reports of anyone being arrested for physical violence, but Ottawa Police have confirmed that they're investigating desecration of the National War Memorial and the Terry Fox monument.
The protest continues today, with demonstrators expected to descend upon shopping centres.
Some MPs will be returning to the House of Commons today and Sergeant-at-arms Patrick McDonell says security plans are being developed in order to ensure their safety.
