The tentative deal between the Thames Valley District School Board and Ontario Secondary School Teacher's Federation finally has the green light. The provincial government has now approved tentative agreements between six school boards and their secondary school teachers. York Region, Upper Grand School District, Avon Maitland, District of Niagara, and Hamilton-Wentworth District were the other school boards to get the thumbs up. The Ottawa-Carleton District -- which hammered out a tentative agreement early yesterday -- and Durham school boards are still waiting for approval. Education Minister Laurel Broten has said any tentative deals must be ``substantially identical'' to the one it struck with English Catholic teachers in July.
