United Way Oxford and United Way Elgin Middlesex will reap the benefits of a $230,244 cheque from the Thames Valley District School Board.
OXFORD/ELGIN/MIDDLESEX - That's $230,244 for United Way Oxford and United Way Elgin Middlesex.
The Thames Valley District School Board was able to donate the funds to the two agencies recently.
The school board has been raising funds for United Way for several years now, and Director of Education Mark Fisher is grateful for the ongoing partnership.
"The United Way provides funding to community agencies across Thames Valley, and we know that our students benefit from those supports every day. We are proud of all the efforts of our students and staff that went into this donation, and know that we all benefit by helping those most in need."
This is Thames Valley's largest donation to United Way since 2019, before the COVID-19 pandemic began. The school board was able to raise more funds this year, now that kids are black in the classroom for in-person learning.
