Two more witnesses took the stand to testify their relationship with accused killer Michael Rafferty. The first was Ann Tweedie. Tweedie says she knew Rafferty since she was 11 years of age and attended a middle school with Rafferty in the Drayton, Ontario area, not far from where Tori Stafford was found in the spring of 2009. Tweedie testified Rafferty (at the time) lived in a house in nearby Guelph with his Aunt and Uncle and he was very familiar with the areas surrounding Mount Forest. A second witness, 30 year old Jennifer Estell, told the court she dated Rafferty for a period of 4-5 months in 2006. She said Rafferty worked at a company in Guelph at the time and they would often travel north and southbound on highway 6 when they dated visiting various places and having coffee together. The majority of today?s proceeding however, was consumed by further legal arguments between the Crown, the defense and Justice Heeney, but cannot be reported due to the absence of the jury. Chapter 10 in the trial continued this afternoon with further witness testimony. This chapter is focusing specifically on Rafferty?s whereabouts on May 15, 2009 ? 5 weeks before Tori Stafford?s disappearance and 4 days before he was arrested in Woodstock.
