United Way Oxford is collecting online donations for a meal drive and the Supplies 4 Students program ahead of the Day of Caring on Thursday June 3rd.
OXFORD COUNTY - United Way Oxford is looking to provide up to 100 meals for people in need in our community.
Resource Development Coordinator Mike Crabbe says they're collecting online donations ahead of their annual Day of Caring on Thursday June 3rd.
"We are prompting our community to see if they can help with meal drive. You can donate $10 which will provide a meal to someone in need in our community."
You can donate to the cause online here and there's also an option to sponsor a child for the Supplies 4 Students program.
It has been a very tough year due to the pandemic and Crabbe says we need to focus on the good things happening in our community.
"Everyone has had so much separation from one to another and it's really tough to find those opportunities to feel togetherness and support local. That's why we're excited about this event this year because we're missing that in our community right now."
He's encouraging people to pay it forward; whether it's paying for someone else's order in the drive thru, supporting a local business or writing a letter to an isolated senior.
