UPDATE: Police say it was a 92 year old woman who died at the rail crossing on the 31st Line in Zorra Township after colliding with a freight train.
UPDATE: Police have identified the driver of the VW Jetta as 92 year old Helen Beggs of Zorra Township. She was pronounced deceased at the scene.
INGERSOLL - A 92 year old woman has died after a fatal crash in Zorra Township.
Police say the woman was driving her VW Jetta on the 31st Line in between Road 74 and Road 68 when she collided with a Freight Train at the rail crossing. The VW Jetta was traveling north on the 31st Line and the freight train was traveling west. The rail crossing is controlled by flashing lights.
The lone occupant of the VW Jetta, a 92 year old woman was pronounced deceased at the scene. Her identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
The section of the 31st Line was closed for several hours as OPP Traffic Technical Collision Investigators were called to assist at the scene.
