The Liberal Government is expected to announce their plans for an Ontario Retirement Pension Plan today.
Those working without a retirement workplace pension plan in Oxford will want to pay attention to a Liberal announcement later this morning.
Premier Kathleen Wynne and Finance Minister Charles Sousa will give an update this morning on what they say will be several key features of the Ontario Retirement Pension Plan. Last April the government passed legislation to create a provincial pension plan for the more than three million people in the Province who are living without a workplace pension. The Liberals have asked for help from the Federal government, and they were denied, however they plan to move forward alone. It's anticipated the plan will take effect in 2017 and would require yearly contributions of up to $1,643 from employers and workers.
