The Woodstock Navy Vets didn't have to look very far for a new Head coach to fill in for Peter Crosby, after his resignation.
WOODSTOCK - Navy Vets look get a new look behind the bench with Peter Crosby resigning.
Darren Young looks to turn the ship in the right direction as he will be appointed as the Head Coach for the foreseeable future. GM of the Navy Vets, Robin Inscoe explains his reasoning behind appointing Young once again.
"He's got enough experience now and it was a easy decision to push forward. His familiarity with the player's, player's familiar with him. So we hope to come out and improve on a 500 record."
Young was the Navy Vets Assistant Coach this past year and had a successful tenure with the team.
"Darren knows these players better than anybody, having been with them last year. The system they played last year, he was a big part of implementing and they had success with that."
Crosby's reason for leaving also gets cleared up by the General Manager of the Vets.
"I think it was a difference in philosophy's and Crosby and the team just weren't seeing eye to eye. And he decided the time was right before the season got into full swing."
The Navy Vets hope to break the 500 record their sitting at right now with a game against the Tavistock Braves this Tuesday, Oct. 2nd at 7:45 p.m. at the Southwood Arena.
