The COVID-19 vaccination clinic at the Tillsonburg Community Centre is in need of volunteers.
TILLSONBURG - The Town of Tillsonburg is looking for some extra hands to help with the COVID-19 vaccination clinic at the Community Centre.
Director of Corporate Services and Clerk Michelle Smibert says you don't need a medical background to help out.
"The duties will include anything from directing people to their seat within the clinic, also cleaning chairs as they're leading people through the clinic and screening people as they enter the facility."
Each day has been divided into three different shifts; 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., 12:45 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., and 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. They need two people to cover each shift.
There's no age requirement to volunteer so high school students are welcome to sign up if they're in need of more community service hours.
Smibert says there are protocols in place to ensure that it's a safe space for everyone.
"Everyone is screened so if anyone is showing symptoms they're not allowed to venture any further. We have all the protocols and measures in place to protect not only the workers but also the residents coming into the clinic as well."
Those who are interested in signing up can fill out the volunteer form online here or they can call the Customer Service Centre at 519-688-3009.
