Art lovers will be able to check out two new exhibits at the Woodstock Art Gallery.
WOODSTOCK - A pair of new exhibits are on display at the Woodstock Art Gallery.
Gathering Fictions: A Dialogue on Painting will open tomorrow and be on the 2nd floor with paintings from Canadian painters Janet Jones and Michel Daigneault. Both artists were born in Montreal and are teachers in the visual arts department at York University in Toronto.
The other exhibit will be on the 1st floor and will feature four paintings by the late John Harvey. Harvey was an avid supporter of the arts in Oxford County. He took part in many juried art shows in Woodstock and was a largely self-taught artist. He was inspired to paint by his vacations in northern Ontario.
Both exhibits were featured in the Gallery’s Winter Open House, which took place on Monday from 1 to 3 p.m. During the open house, visitors could also enjoy demonstrations, exhibition tours, and talks with visiting artists.
Also, on Family Day, current Director/Curator Mary Reid served her last day in the position. She is moving on, and Stephanie Porter is taking over on an interim basis.
