Getting local men to pump-up by wearing high heels has measured up for DASO. Domestic Abuse Services Oxford pulled in over $8400 with their weekend awareness walk. It was the first year the "Walk a Mile in Her Shoes" took place in downtown Woodstock, for improved visibility. The top fundraising team was the Rotary Clubs of Oxford with $1440. The five clubs (Woodstock, Woodstock-Oxford, Ingersoll, Tavistock and Tillsonburg), each had a representative in the walk (photo left). The walk, which promotes ending violence against women also had some high profiled, high heeled walkers. Police Chief Rod Freeman and Fire Chief Scott Tegler (photo right) traded in their black dress shoes for red pumps to support the cause.
