7-11 officials might have had a "Big Gulp" after what they dug up while trying to install new gas tanks in Woodstock. They unearthed a large pool of groundwater where they were looking to install the new tanks. They're now changing the plans and installing two smaller tanks, instead of one larger one. They'll also be double-walled fibreglass tanks with state of the art monitoring. The new gas pumps were supposed to open on October 18th, now they won't open for another 3-4 weeks. But once the pumps are open, they will offer diesel fuel, which is something customers have been asking for. But they're not the only ones hitting water beneath the surface. Just a block away, the new CAS building under construction hit ground water while digging for the foundation. They're now changing the grading of the project, and won't be able to build as deep as planned.
