The Woodstock Police Service is conducting a weapons investigation on Mill Street and two people have been taken into custody.
2ND UPDATE: Three people have been arrested after a police standoff in Woodstock that lasted nearly 12 hours.
Officers first responded to the area of Mill Street near Dundas last night around 11:30 after getting word of a robbery.
One of the accused was hiding in the back seat of a car waiting for their victim. When the owner of the car entered the vehicle they were assaulted and a weapon was produced. The two people are known to each other and police do not believe the attack was random.
The Woodstock Police Service Containment Team, Canine Unit, Criminal Investigations Bureau, Drugs and Intelligence Unit, and Uniform Patrol officers all worked together to successfully arrest the three accused at a home on Mill Street this morning.
All three have been charged with robbery with a firearm. They include a 24 year old woman, a 25 year old man both from Woodstock and a 25 year old man from London.
This investigation is ongoing and additional charges are pending.
Police did not release any names.

WOODSTOCK - An weapons investigation is underway in Woodstock.
There has been a heavy police presence on Mill Street between Dundas Street and Simcoe Street all morning. Residents have been asked to avoid the area.
The investigation started at about 11:30 p.m. last night and two people have been taken into custody since then. One person has also been taken to hospital with minor injuries.
