What the Health Movie Night

'What the Health' is back with another outdoor movie night on Friday August 8th.

WOODSTOCK-

The Oxford County Public Health's youth group will be hosting their second free outdoor movie screening."What the Health" is a health promotion project led by teens who are passionate about health issues, including the issue of teen smoking. The group consists of Oxford County teens from five secondary schools who are active in their community and schools. The event, on August 8th, is to spread awareness of the effects of smoking in movies. 

Through their pre-show games and activities, members of "What the Health" will talk to parents and kids about the influence smoking in movies can have on a childs decision to start smoking. Youth Engagement Co-ordinator, Amanda Scales says that one of the mandates of "What the Health" is to educate youth on the dangers of tobacco use and spread the awareness about how the tobacco industry uses tactis to promote smoking to you people. 

The event kicks off at 7:00pm, and will be feauturing the 'LEGO Movie' at Southside Park in Woodstock starting at dusk or approximately 8:45pm. Admission is free but non-perishable food donations will be accepted in lieu of admission, and in exchange for some free popcorn.
