Mark Peterson is the new mayor-elect of the Township of Blandford-Blenheim.
BLANDFORD-BLENHEIM - Mark Peterson is the new mayor of the Township of Blandford-Blenheim.
The results came out last Monday evening following the municipal election. After the support he received from the community, Peterson couldn't be happier.
"I just want to thank all the residents of Blandford-Blenheim Township for the overwhelming support that I got over the campaign between knocking on doors and the vote at the end. I'm just overwhelmed."
Peterson, who begins his term next month, says he's always wanted to be mayor after serving as a councilman for the last eight years.
"That was actually my goal, right from the start, was to run two terms as councilor and then mayor at that time. So that's where it's kind of worked out, with Marion Wearn retiring, the timing, just it worked out very well."
