A Norfolk OPP officer had to rescue a pet from a hot vehicle in the midst of a heat warning in Simcoe.
SIMCOE - Norfolk OPP have charged a woman who left her dog inside a car during a heat warning.
Police say the woman left the dog inside the vehicle on Tuesday afternoon at the Walmart parking lot in Simcoe. Police attended the scene and an officer was able to unlock the door to rescue the pet.
The officer was able to get some air flow into the car and the pet was ok.
The woman was paged inside the store. After investigating police charged a 61 year old woman from Staffordville with leave animal unattended in a motor vehicle, contrary to Norfolk County Care and Control of Animals By-Law 2014-46.
She was subsequently issued a Provincial Offences Notice.
