The Woodstock Art Gallery is turning 50 and have a year long program of celebrations and special surprises.
WOODSTOCK - The Woodstock Art Gallery's 50th anniversary is happening this Tuesday.
WAG will be hosting events throughout the year in celebration.
Mary Reid, Director/Curator of the Woodstock Art Gallery says the details are being kept quiet for now.
"Those will be announced at the press conference that we are planning on June 7th. I want to keep those under wraps until we officially announce them on the 50th anniversary."
Reid does say that the community is looking forward to celebrating with them.
"People are quite excited and interesting in coming."
Mary feels WAG is an integral part of the community.
"Creativity really plays a large role in the way we live our lives and they way we interact with each other. Art has a strong way to connect us and build community. I think that is what the staying power of the gallery is over 50 years."
The galleries will be open for guests to tour and enjoy from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm on Tuesday June 7th. They will be announcing the year long plan for the 50th anniversary celebrations and even have a few surprises in store to celebrate this major milestone.
