The Woodstock Art Gallery will reopen it's doors to visitors on Tuesday August 3rd with COVID-19 safety protocols in effect.
WOODSTOCK - The Woodstock Art Gallery will open to the public on Tuesday.
Curator Mary Reid says they're really excited to welcome back visitors.
"As much as I have to commend my staff for making that big transition into the digital world and doing online programming and online exhibitions. There really is nothing that can replace that one to one experience when you stand in front of a piece of art work that really moves you and really speaks to you."
Reid says they will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with normal hours and a maximum of 30 people inside at one time.
"We do have to follow all of the health protocols, all of the various gallery spaces do have their limits, we have signage to promote physical distancing, both on the floor and the walls and visitors will be expected to wear a mask and a health screening before entering."
They will be displaying a new exhibit called "My Favourite Artwork." Reid says this exhibit started at the beginning of the pandemic when she reached out to donors and patrons to discuss their favourite pieces at the gallery.
"This kind of started to snow ball, we got some great responses and in the end, we mounted this wonderful exhibition, where members of the public have been able to peruse our collection and tell us why this piece of art, sculpture or photograph really resonates with them and what makes it so special."
