The City of Woodstock has bought buildings that are around City Hall. They now own 478 to 484 Dundas Street, which is the current location of Tristar Liquidation and Discount.
WOODSTOCK - Woodstock City Council has approved the purchase of buildings next to city hall.
The City now owns 478 to 484 Dundas Street, which is currently the location of Tristar Liquidation and Discount.
Mayor, Jerry Acchione says that City Hall is bursting at the seams and needs more space.
"For future, Museum Square as well as City Hall, having that entire block of ownership is endless possibilities."
Acchione adds currently, desks are in hallways as office space is limited.
He states the process was one he was happy with and has a message for the owner of Tristar Liquidation and Discount.
"I really want to thank Tristar. They were great through all this, it was extremely amicable going back and forth with some negotiations, and again thank them very much for having the City interest in mind."
The price tag was 3-million dollars, which includes 2 point seven five-million for the property and 2-hundred and fifty-thousand for the business.
