Some of the best and brightest in Woodstock were honoured at the Woodstock Chamber Awards last night.
WOODSTOCK - The 2016 Woodstock Chamber Business Awards of Excellence honoured some of the best and brightest in the Friendly City.
One of the more emotional moments of the night was when the Chamber awarded the late great Bill Gillespie with the Presidents Award.
The first award of the night went to David Hilderley with the Community Service Award and he was very happy with the honour.
"It's an amazing honour from my perspective, I am deeply humbled but greatly appreciative of the recognition, I work with people to help give back to the community, so it's not just me."

Entrepreneur of the Year Award: Gunn's Hill Artisan Cheese
Young Professional/Young Entrepreneur: Adam Eddy with Eddycrest Furniture.
Outstanding New Business: Alternate Routes
Commercial Award: Oxford County Veterinary Clinic
Manufacturing Award: Toyota Boshuko Canada Inc.
Professional Services Award: Bouman Brown Dentistry
Franchisee Award: Quality Hotel and Suites and Conference Centre
Retailer Award: The Record Works
Food Service Award: Sixthirtynine
Trades Person Award: Hawkins Electric Inc.
Energy Conservation and Innovation Award: Sedum Master Inc.
President's Award: Bill Gillespie
The evening wrapped up with a message from the Chamber President Paul Chambers. He thanked everyone who worked so hard to put this night together. Chambers said they had to deal with some adversity this year and at one point it looked like they might even have to cancel the event. They didn't of course and Chambers thanked everyone who worked so hard to make the night a success.
