Woodstock City Council could decide to renovate Lions Pool for $2-million, build a new pool at Cowan Fields for over $5.3-million, or decommission Lions Pool and not build a new one.
WOODSTOCK - Woodstock City Council has three options on the table when it comes to the future of outdoor pools in the Friendly City.
A report from staff says it will cost $2-million in order to renovate Lions Pool, so it can be sustainable for the long term.
Council could also decide to build a new outdoor pool at Cowan Fields instead, which would cost more than $5,350,000.
Lastly, council could decide to not renovate the Lions Pool and not build a new pool to replace it.
Council will discuss the matter during this Thursday's meeting. It will begin at 7:00 p.m. and you can livestream it on the City of Woodstock YouTube Channel. You can also find the agenda online here.
Woodstock City Council decided not to open Lions Pool for the summer during a meeting last month and you can find more information online here.
