Great weather and rural pride brought people from near and far to Woodstock to enjoy the fair.
WOODSTOCK - Since 1836 crowds have made their way to the Friendly City to take in the Woodstock Fair.
Kicking off on Thursday and running until Sunday the fair offered a little something for everyone. Along with all of the classics like the midway and vendors, a few attractions were introduced this year - like the 24 ft rock wall, inflatables and a kids' talent show.
Oshawa resident, Bob Gibson, who took part in the fair, was impressed with what he saw. "It is actually nice - it is like a country fair. We were looking at the livestock and that was kind of neat it was different seeing that kind of thing. We were over at the rock wall I kind of gave it a try myself but chickened out." The theme for the fair this year was 'Rural Pride, County Wide.'
Brantford resident Marnie Marshall was enjoying her time in Woodstock for the 179th fair and tested mettle on the rock wall. "It was my first time every rock climbing! I tried to beat my last score in time and I kept doing it. I like the mixture of everything around here you've got the horse barn, the rides, the band I was expecting a lot out of the rides."
