Numerous events are planned at the Woodstock Hospital throughout the month of November, in order to celebrate the 5 year anniversary of the hospital’s opening on Juliana Drive.
WOODSTOCK - Members of the Woodstock Hospital will be celebrating the 5 year anniversary of their new building throughout the month of November.
Festivities kicked off this morning with a special unveiling in the courtyard. President and CEO Natasa Veljovic tells Heart FM about the new addition.
"One of the items that we wanted to do originally but we didn't given the timelines and so on, we wanted a clock in the courtyard. This was a good occasion to celebrate 5 years with a clock and of course really reflect back on the 5 years of success."
There will also be an internal celebration at the hospital on November 20th and a special donor event on November 24th.
Veljovic talks about some of the work that has been done in the new building.
"We're approaching 44,000 emergency room visits, we have chemotherapy suite, we have a much larger surgical suite, we have between 900 and 1,000 babies, we have a new rehab unit, we have expanded patient care areas. It's has been a phenomenal success."
A new MRI machine has also been added to the hospital.
Woodstock General Hospital moved from its former location at 270 Riddell Street to 310 Juliana Drive on November 20th 2011. The hospital itself has been serving the community for 121 years.
