The universal washroom will benefit families and people with mobility issues.
WOODSTOCK - The Woodstock Navy Club now has a universal washroom, thanks to a $64,000 grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
Karen Sutherland, the President of the Oxford County Naval Veterans Association (OCNVA), says the impact of this funding cannot be overstated.
"This grant gives the OCNVA a much-needed, properly sized universal washroom that will allow us to serve our members and guests better now and in the future. We can now accommodate anyone with mobility issues."
Families will also be able to use it.
Oxford MPP Ernie Hardeman and Woodstock Mayor Jerry Acchione attended an event at the Navy Club on Saturday, celebrating the new washroom.
Hardeman says he's glad the OCNVA received this funding from the province, and put it to good use.
"Our government believes organizations like the Oxford County Naval Veterans Association enrich the lives of people in our communities and play an important role in building a strong and prosperous economy in Ontario. That’s why I am proud that our government is providing capital funding through the Ontario Trillium Foundation to improve accessibility. Organizations such as OCNVA are the pillars of our community. This support will enable them to better serve the people of Oxford and continue to make a positive difference.”
