The Woodstock Navy Vets celebrated a 1-0 win over the New Hamburg Firebirds at Southwood Arena last night.
WOODSTOCK - It was a close one, but the Woodstock Navy Vets did beat the New Hamburg Firebirds last night 1-0.
Patrick Klazer scored with just over three minutes left in the third period to secure the win for the Vets. Woodstock has now taken a 1-0 lead in the PJHL Doherty Division semifinal series and Game 2 is scheduled for Friday night at the Wilmot Recreation Complex. The puck will drop at 7:30 p.m.
Meanwhile, the Tavistock Braves will face the Apple Jacks in Game 2 of their semifinal series tonight at the Wellesley Community Centre. The puck will drop at 8:05 p.m. and the Apple Jacks are currently leading that series 1-0.
Looking at the Yeck Division, the Thamesford Trojans will be back on the ice on Friday to kick off their semifinal series against the Exeter Hawks. That game is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. at the South Huron Arena.
