The Woodstock Police will be at the Sobeys on Devonshire to Fill A Cruiser on Saturday
WOODSTOCK - The Woodstock Police are getting ready to fill a cruiser.
Constable Tyler Allard tells us this year's event will be on December 12th from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. "And it's occurring at the Sobeys parking lot on Devonshire. Basically it's an event that occurs yearly for us to provide some food and other necessities to people in need."
Allard says they are happy to be partnering up with Sobeys again for this great cause. "Basically what happens is that people can purchase some prepackaged bags from Sobeys in the amount of $10 or $5 and from there basically they have the opportunity to put those bags into a cruiser. We stuff as many cruisers as we can and all the proceeds, all those bags are donated to the Salvation Army."
The Friendly City has been very generous in the past, and the Woodstock Police are hoping that same sense of holiday spirit comes out this year. "The response is unbelievable. So last year I can say that we had 9 and a half cruisers filled with groceries so that's quite a considerable amount of food and necessities that are provided to people."
