A heavy police presence descended on Russell Street after a frantic 911 call, but it turned out to be a false alarm.
WOODSTOCK - Woodstock Police responded to false report of men with guns at a Russell Street home.
Police say the 911 call they received just before 7:30 p.m. on June 6th detailed an attack and kidnapping in process. The report also said a man at the home had been stabbed.
Officers surrounded the home and blocked off several streets in the area with EMS waiting in the wings to assist. However when police called the home, they found out everyone inside was fine. The K9 unit then searched the home, and the police were able to call everything off.
Police say no one was in danger and there were no injuries to anyone.
The caller, also the mother of a resident at the scene, was taken into custody under the Mental Health Act and transported to Woodstock General Hospital.
