College Ave Secondary School is set to host the 8th annual Run for the Fund for the Thames Valley Education Foundation.
WOODSTOCK - For the first time in eight years, the Run for the Fund is coming to Oxford County.
It's an annual fundraiser for the Thames Valley Education Foundation with all of the proceeds going to the Caring Fund.
Oxford County Trustee and TVDSB Vice Chair Dave Cripps says it allows principals to identify students who have needs.
"It's a quick way to provide funds to help support everything from food for hungry students to winter clothing as well as participating in extracurriculars when maybe there is a challenge with funds. It's a great event!"
The run is happening at College Avenue Secondary School in Woodstock on Saturday June 1st with an 8:30 a.m. start time. You can find the registration details online here.
Cripps says we can also expect a special announcement that day.
"If you are in the area I think Director Mark Fischer and Chair Beth Mai will be here and I think we'll get to hear some more exciting news on June 1st."
Dave Cripps stopped by the Heart FM studio to chat with Dan and Marcie on Thursday May 16th. You can listen to the full interview below:
